Visa Service Adjusted Temporarily

In line with the efforts to contain the pandemic of COVID-19, effective on March 18, the Visa Office of the Embassy of China in Jamaica adjusts its opening hours and operation as follows:

1. The opening hours of the Visa Office will be 2:30-4:30 pm every Wednesday since March 18, 2020.

2. All applicants are encouraged to defer applying for visas, legalizing documents or renewing Chinese passports. The Chinese passports and travel documents expired during the pandemic period will be renewed accordingly.

3. On-line registration is required to apply for all the documents. Registration is made through consulatechinajamaica@gmail.com. Our staff will reply the applicants' e-mails and advise of the time of application. All applicants are requested to come to the Visa Office with our confirmed e-mails. No registration is required for collection of documents.

4. All applicants are required to fill in the Registration Form of Visitor (attached) upon entering the Visa Office. All applicants shall declare faithfully if they have any unusual symptoms such as fever, cough or shortness of breath, or if they have travelled to the areas affected by the COVID-19 in the last 14 days, or if they had contact with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 patients in the last 14 days.

5. All applicants are required to download all application forms, have them filled and register before getting to the Visa Office. They shall bring, upon entry, their application forms, on-line registration confirmation e-mails and Registration Forms of Visitor. Those who come for collection will be allowed entry with Pick up Forms and Registration Forms of Visitor.

6. Apart from the previous materials, all visa applicants are required to provide their reservation of return air tickets and to fill in their detailed itinerary in China in the 2.6 column of the Visa Application Form of the People's Republic of China.

7. All applicants are required to wear masks and take a body tempreture scan. Hand sanitizer is available and social distance shall be maintained at the Visa Office. Applicants are not encouraged to stay long at the Visa Office.

8. Applicants are advised to search "Consular Service" on the website of the Embassy (http://jm.chineseembassy.org/chn/lsfw/) before they come to the Visa Office and to prepare the required application materials. All enquiries should be made through consulatechinajamaica@gmail.com.

9. Apart from the parents of the children whose accompany is needed, applicant should come to apply by himself/ herself only. Unrelated persons will be denied entry.

The above arrangement is subject to adjustment per status of COVID-19. Applicants are advised to heed further notice of the Embassy.
