Chinese Proficiency Competition Held at the UWI

    On March 27th, Counsellor YANG Wenxu, on behalf of the Embassy of China in Jamaica, addressed the Jamaican Final of the 16th Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students held by the Confucius Institute of the University of the West Indies. Counsellor YANG extended congratulations to the successful holding of the competition, encouraged contestants to be ambassadors of people-to-people friendship and exchanges between China and Jamaica, and wished that more Jamaican friends could better understand China by learning Chinese language and culture so as to promote China-Jamaica friendship. He also presented awards to the winners. The competition attracted an audience of over 180 persons including preliminary contestants, representatives from colleges, Chinese enterprises and local cummunities.
