International Children's Day Celebrated by the Chinese Community

    On May 28th, a gathering celebrating the International Children’s Day was jointly hosted by the Embassy of China in Jamaica and Chinese Benevolent Association (CBA) in the Chinese Garden at Hope Gardens in Kingston, Jamaica. Counsellor YANG Wenxu attended and, on behalf of Ambassador NIU Qingbao, extended festival greetings to all the children present, wishing that they spend a happy and meaningful Children’s Day by experiencing Chinese culture. He said that the Embasy supports the Chinese community to survive and thrive, to live in harmony with the neighborhood and to promote friendship between China and Jamaica.

    During the celebration, children sang the national anthems of China and Jamaica, experienced the charm of Chinese culture of architecture, calligraphy, paper-cutting and food. CBA organized colorful games for children. Children and their parents of the Chinese community totalling about 400 participated in the celebration.
